This modern, Provençal house, screened by a pine tree forest, at the foot of Mont Ventoux, is certainly worth the visit. And not just because of its ideal location, perfect for cyclists, planning to conquer this legendary mountain. It’s also a lovely hotel where visitors are assured of a warm welcome from Anne-Sophie, Guillaume and their young children. Relax in the hammocks, strung up between the pine trees, or visit the massage room or pool, set apart from the hotel, with elegant teak deck. Meals, made from local market produce, are served on the shady terrace or pretty patio in the summer. The quiet, rural surroundings create a setting that is ideal for active pursuits or relaxation. But what really grabs your attention, are the bedrooms, which, over the years, have been carefully and painstakingly decorated in an original style, by their young owners. The Neo-Provencal decor with its interplay of contrasting colours, variety of fabrics and range of eclectic furniture sourced from a number of different places – for example, the country-style cabinet housing the sink in one of the bathrooms (the “Cupidon” bedroom which couples will love) – is certainly on trend. The overall effect, which is further enhanced by Guillaume’s contemporary paintings (he is a Fine Arts graduate), make this an unusual yet charming destination.
