Market in Vaison-la-Romaine :
Wander in the large Provencal market on Tuesday mornings with the colours and scents of Midi. It hosts up to 450 exhibitors in the summer period and is spread across the whole town centre of Vaison la Romaine...
Market with fruit and vegetables, fresh regional products, artisan market, clothing, second-hand clothes, crockery, gifts... The market of Maison-la-Romaine takes place every Tuesday morning from 7:30 on the main squares and streets of the town in a warm and Provencal atmosphere.
Coming from an ancestral tradition, its existence dates back to 1483, when a papal bull from Pope Sixtus IV authorised Vaison to open a market.
In 1532, Pope Clement VII confirmed this decision and specified the day: Tuesday. It then took place in the upper town in the square known as the old market.
Today it is one of the largest and most vibrant in the region.
And on François Cevert square, there is also a market exclusively reserved for small regional producers.
