Event in Avignon :
This exhibition retraces the career of Jean-Henri Fabre (1823-1915), an exceptional and self-taught naturalist. The exhibition recalls his presence in Avignon and its region and the echo that his naturalistic works had in relation to current science.
Jean-Henri Fabre, born in Aveyron, was a scientist whose memory lives on to the present day. However, his life and his work deserve to be even better known: innovative and inspiring, the nigh-on 92 years of his life shed a fresh light on our present society. Science, poetry, the Provençal language, errors of analysis, family dramas and recognition will be among the topics discussed.
