Avignon
Héritages - symphonic concert
Friday 4 April 2025 at 8 pm.
Event in Avignon :
It's raining strings on this highly original program, centered around the aura and legacy of Johann Sebastian Bach.
Alongside pianist Adam Laloum, the Orchestre national Avignon-Provence invites us to hear the spectacular concerto that Bach originally imagined for harpsichord and orchestra, and which resonates more spectacularly and timelessly on modern piano.
By naming her concertante piece "Partita", Czech composer Vitězslava Kapralova pays tribute to the Leipzig cantor, and gives us one of the most moving works by this musician, who died prematurely at the age of 25 in Montpellier. As a final bouquet, Léo Margue, "Revelation Conductor" at the 2024 Victoires de la musique classique awards, brings us the first symphony by Felix Mendelssohn, the man to whom we also owe the resurrection of Bach's "Passions".
