Concert de l'Ensemble vocal d'Avignon " Fauré en son temps"

The Ensemble vocal d'Avignon, directed by lyric artist René Linnenbank, has chosen for its concert on Sunday April 6 at 5 p.m. works from the youth of Gabriel Fauré, composed between 1865 and 1890 (Fauré was born in 1845), and more or less well-known, such as Tu es Petrus or Tantum Ergo, with its version in Gregorian chant, alongside the famous Cantique de Jean Racine, Madrigal or Pavane.

The Requiem will also be performed in its 1888 version, with two soloists (Emilie Ménard and Pierre Guiral) and a reduced orchestra, rather than the 1901 symphonic version. To complete the set and highlight the organ, which will accompany us in most of the pieces, organist Michel Chanard has chosen three pieces by two of Fauré's contemporaries, Cécile Chaminade (1857-1944) and Mel Bonis (1858-1937).
