Tourist service in Visan :
A circular walk exploring the landscape around the winegrowing village of Visan.
- From the Porte Puy Barret, take the road to Vaison.
- Turn left onto Rue Notre Dame, which runs along the top of the plots.
- At the junction, take the second road on the left, towards the Chapelle Notre Dame des Vignes. Stay on the tarmacked road. Lovely views of Visan’s vine-covered slopes. Pass the Domaine de la Cantharide wine estate.
- At the junction, turn right onto Chemin des Bordeaux, which climbs towards the hill.
- At the fork, take the dirt track, following the sign “Visan, circuit pédestre”. Stay on this wide track for 1.5 km.
- At the top of the track, turn right onto the tarmacked road.
- 200 metres further on, at the corner of a vineyard and the woods, walk down the lane on your left, then up along the edge of the vineyard on the left; the path then turns right through the vines. Beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding area.
- At the point where several paths meet among the vines, take the stony path to the right as far as the chapel of St Vincent.
- At the chapel, descend the wide, stony path around the chapel, towards the village of Visan. Stay on the tarmacked road towards the village (no entry for motor vehicles).
- At the junction with a pretty stone hut and a sign saying “Visan 197 m”, turn left towards the village. Follow the sign to the “Mairie” as far as Place du Jeu de Paume. With the mairie (town hall) on your right, turn left down the street towards the Porte Puy Barret and back to the car park.
