Les Hivernales - Centre de Développement Chorégraphique National d'Avignon has been working to develop dance in the region for over 45 years.
Throughout the year, the CDCN-Les Hivernales develops activities to raise awareness of choreographic culture and to promote it, hosting shows and choreographers in residence, and organizing meetings and workshops in its theater.
Two highlights punctuate the season:
- Les Hivernales in February: An historic festival on the French choreographic scene, Les Hivernales is a not-to-be-missed event in the heart of winter.
- The "On (y) danse aussi l'été! In summer too, Les Hivernales - CDCN remains a benchmark for dance. Every year in July, several regional, national and international companies have the opportunity to present their shows to the public, professionals and journalists alike.
