This long tour is easy to ride and has no technical sections. From Sault, head for Montbrun les Bains then, at the foot of Reilhanette, climb back up to the Ventoux via a beautiful, winding forest track that's smooth and gradual. This is an ideal spot for animal encounters. The climb continues as far as the Cabane du Mouflon and its beautiful meadow, before taking the route de la Tune, and continuing east under the Frache. The route then takes you to the Pavillon du Rat, set up as a bivouac (out of season), and on to the Chapelle Saint Jean via a wide track and then the Combe de Clare. The tour then continues along a flat, tree-lined Scandinavian-style path overlooking the Combre de Margot. From the Chapelle du Ventouret, the downhill track offers unobstructed views of the Sault plateau and lavender fields. The return journey takes in the Fond du Val de Sault, source of the Nesque, revealing views across spelt fields, distilleries and lavender fields.
