Tourist service in Fontaine-de-Vaucluse :
It was raised by the Athénée de Vaucluse in honour of Petrarch on 20 July 1804 near the source. She stayed there for 25 years before being transferred to the public square.
The inauguration on its new site took place on 20 November 1829 on the occasion of the Duchess of Berry's visit to Vaucluse. It bore the inscription :
