More than a century of archaeological research has made it possible to present the evidence of an exceptional architectural ensemble. Located in the heart of the Alpilles massif, the Gallic city was bathed in Greek and then Roman influences.

Once the capital of the Glaniques, one of the peoples of ancient Provence, Glanum is now a major archaeological site. The town became Hellenised as a result of contact with Marseille, and under Roman influence was endowed with grandiose public monuments, before disappearing around 270, the victim of barbarian invasions. Excavations have brought to light a residential area with a central courtyard lined with columns, streets with sewers, mosaics, thermal baths and the forum, all of which bear witness to a certain refinement.

Audioguides available in French, English, German, Spanish and Italian: €3

ATTENTION: Exceptional opening times on certain days in July, due to the Avignon Festival and the Glanum Festival.
-> Consult the modified opening times on the Site Archéologique de Glanum website
The reception building, refreshment area and picnic area will remain open and accessible at the same times as usual.
