Tourist service in Apt :
Creation of glazed stoneware ceramics, utilitarian or decorative, unique pieces modeled, hollowed (kurinuki method) or plate-mounted. Guy-Frédéric uses a variety of techniques: plate-mounting, stamping and kurinuki.
As far back as I can remember, Guy-Frédéric has always had a taste for creation: drawing, painting, making objects, modeling or sculpting, but never really using clay.
In the 80s, he was lucky enough to rub shoulders with many artists, painters and sculptors from the Pays d'Apt region, helping to set up the "Artifices" artists' association and organizing numerous exhibitions with and for it over a period of almost ten years.
Her frequent visits to artists, exhibitions and museums, as well as her reading of art books, exhibition catalogs and auction sales, have opened her eyes to all forms of art, including a real attraction to ancient ceramics from Asia and the Near East, the purity of their forms, the simplicity of their decorations... or, on the contrary, their exuberance.
In June 2019, he really got his hands dirty with clay during a week-long initiation at Alain Briffa's Poterie du Pierroux in Roussillon, which was a revelation.
From then on, he never stopped shaping and building objects, first in his apartment, on his living room table, then firing and glazing them at the Pierroux workshop.
He took the plunge on January 1, 2020, declaring himself a self-employed artist and fitting out and equipping his studio. He works in stoneware and he's using industrial glazes for the time being, until I find out more...
