42 km in the footsteps on the Popes of Avignon


The Hike of the Enclave des Papes (the MEP) is a sportive, festive event which supports charities, and which takes place between 4 villages in the Vaucluse enclave of the Southern Drôme.
The hike goes through beautiful countryside with views over the Mount Ventoux, the dentelles de Montmirail and the hills of the Lance. It also goes through the centre of the four Enclave villages, Grillon, Richerenches, Valréas and Visan in order to see the main historical buildings of each village.
The MEP is not a competition. It’s a hike which is accessible to most, although you must be in good health and have good stamina. The effort required can be quite important for individual participants who walk the whole 42 kms.

When? Saturday 12 October 2024
How do I sign up and the distances to be walked?
• As an individual to complete the whole 42 kms
• As a groupe, divided into 4 separate distances to complete the 42 kms
• À la carte : you chose the village you wish to depart from, at a set time, to complete one or more portions of the hike. This would be between 8 and 15 kms
