Excursion to Fontaine de Vaucluse
Explore Fontaine de Vaucluse, the village that gave its name to this area of France.
Located around fifteen minutes from L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, it is here that the river Sorgue springs in a tumultuous torrent from its rocky source. A short walk is necessary to approach the chasm of Fontaine de Vaucluse and its incredible scenery. The sheer power of the source will take your breath away: it is the largest source in France and 5th largest in the world.
Due to a severe risk of falling rocks and boulders, access to the spring and the foot of the cliff is closed for an indefinite period.
With the kids
Canoe rides on the Sorgue are possible and accessible to people of all levels of ability! We recommend you come in the springtime to benefit from the strongest water flow.
